La norma UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 e l’accreditamento dei laboratori di prova e taratura

I laboratori di prova e taratura accreditati sono in grado di offrire al mercato garanzie sull’affidabilità dei risultati dei servizi di valutazione della conformità forniti (prove e misure) proprio in virtù dell’accreditamento.

L’accreditamento ISO/IEC 17025 definisce i requisiti che un laboratorio deve soddisfare per dimostrare la competenza tecnica del suo personale e la disponibilità di tutte le risorse tecniche, tali da garantire dati e risultati che siano accurati e affidabili per specifiche prove e misurazioni.

Il processo di accreditamento prevede:

  • Competenza tecnica del personale;
  • Validità ed idoneità dei metodi applicati;
  • Riferibilità metrologica delle misure ai campioni nazionali e internazionali del SI;
  • Applicazione appropriata dell’incertezza di misura;
  • Idoneità, taratura e manutenzione delle attrezzature di prova;
  • Garanzia della qualità dei dati delle prove e delle tarature.

La ISO/IEC 17025 prevede, inoltre, che il sistema di gestione sia conforme ai principi della norma ISO 9001, includendo e integrando requisiti tecnici specifici a garanzia, appunto, della competenza del laboratorio.

La conformità ai requisiti della ISO/IEC 17025 sta a significare, quindi, che il laboratorio soddisfa sia i requisiti tecnici che quelli relativi al sistema di gestione necessari per offrire risultati tecnicamente validi di prove e tarature.

I laboratori di prova e taratura accreditati da un Ente di accreditamento firmatario degli accordi internazionali di mutuo riconoscimento EA MLA e ILAC MRA, come ACCREDIA, garantiscono la competenza nello svolgimento delle prove e delle tarature in conformità agli standard internazionali.

Tra il 2020 ed il 2021 il numero degli accreditamenti ha visto un trend in crescita: si contano 1279 laboratori di prova accreditati e 209 laboratori di taratura e taratura. Risulta confermato il trend positivo a testimonianza del valore che il mercato riconosce al sistema delle prove e tarature svolte sotto accreditamento.

Tra i documenti ACCREDIA a sostegno della norma ISO/IEC 17025 troviamo il Regolamento Tecnico RT-08: “Prescrizioni per l’accreditamento dei Laboratori di prova”. Il documento è stato recentemente revisionato (rev. 05 del 15/12/2021) ed entrerà in vigore dal 01/04/2022 con alcune modifiche che riguardano in particolar modo i punti 5.3, 6.5 e 7.8.

Accredited testing and calibration laboratories are able to offer the market guarantees on the reliability of the results of the conformity assessment services provided (tests and measurements) precisely by virtue of accreditation.

ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation defines the requirements that a laboratory must meet to demonstrate the technical competence of its staff and the availability of all technical resources, such as to ensure data and results that are accurate and reliable for specific tests and measurements.

The accreditation process includes:

  • Technical competence of the staff;
  • Validity and suitability of the methods applied;
  • Metrological traceability of measurements to national and international SI samples;
  • Appropriate application of measurement uncertainty;
  • Suitability, calibration and maintenance of test equipment;
  • Quality assurance of test and calibration data.

ISO/IEC 17025 also provides that the management system complies with the principles of THE ISO 9001 standard, including and integrating specific technical requirements to guarantee, in fact, the competence of the laboratory.

Compliance with the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 means, therefore, that the laboratory meets both the technical and management system requirements necessary to offer technically valid test and calibration results.

The testing and calibration laboratories accredited by an accreditation body that is a signatory to the international mutual recognition agreements EA MLA and ILAC MRA, such as ACCREDIA, guarantee competence in carrying out tests and calibrations in accordance with international standards.

Between 2020 and 2021 the number of accreditations has seen a growing trend: there are 1279 accredited testing laboratories and 209 calibration and calibration laboratories. The positive trend is confirmed, testifying to the value that the market recognizes to the system of tests and calibrations carried out under accreditation.

Among the ACCREDIA documents in support of the ISO/IEC 17025 standard we find the Technical Regulation RT-08: “Requirements for the accreditation of test laboratories”.
